VP Engineering — 8


As VP of Engineering, you’re responsible for functional slices of the Engineering team. You will typically lead both directors and engineers across multiple slices.

You’re not generally expected to write code on a day-to-day basis. However, you should have a strong technical background and spend some of your time researching new technologies and staying abreast of trends in the tech industry.

You work closely with the CTO in reinforcing culture, best-practices and career development across the team.

Team Work You lead a team of squads. You’re a coach and mentor for squad senior leadership.
Expertise You leverage your external network to improve Glossier. You demonstrate the expert ability to scale the team and platform concurrently. You can effectively recruit and develop the future leaders of the team.
Smart Execution You consistently make the right decisions for the team and the platform. You have a unique talent to manage technical debt, evaluating trade-offs between delivering features, maintainability, and team happiness. You understand how to create momentum behind a project, and know when to say no.
Cultural Impact You approve the budget for team events, creating fun yet professional environments for team outings.
Communication You articulate the vision for projects and the team. You communicate strategic decisions and get buy-in on bigger decisions.
